58th San Fernando Heritage & Holiday Parade

The City of San Fernando will usher in the holidays with The 58th Annual San Fernando Heritage and Holiday Parade and Carnival.  A long standing tradition in the San Fernando Valley, the Parade joins communities from across Los Angeles to celebrate the season on this special weekend.

Last year’s festivities drew over 10,000 people from all walks of life.  Elected officials, business and civic leaders, community groups, and families participated in the parade.  The parade itself drew more than 100 parade entries.

The 2007 parade theme “It’s Easy Being Green” is expected to attract an even greater amount of community participation. This year's theme is intended to build awareness on recycling, waste reduction, and energy conservation. Señor Basura, a cartoon character that promotes local recycling programs, will serve as the Parade's Grand Marshal.

The San Fernando Heritage and Holiday Parade begins at 1:00 p.m. and marches straight through the heart of the City on historic and beautiful Brand Boulevard. The parade is a truly inspiring holiday tradition.

The parade will culminate with a Holiday Carnival and of course the opportunity for everyone to meet Santa.  The Carnival will include food booths and provide sponsors an opportunity to display information.

Dedicated community leaders, including members of the San Fernando Parade Committee and the City of San Fernando are hard at work setting the stage for one of San Fernando’s warmest traditions.
